Configuring chat feature
How to Enable the Chat Feature
- Login as an Admin and click Session Settings in the left sidebar.
- Click Collaboration Profiles from the expanded submenu.
- Select a Collaboration Profile from the list. In the Settings tab, locate the Chat option and toggle the switch ON. If you want to auto-save your chat messages, you need to toggle the Auto-save Chats switch to ON.
- Click Save to apply these settings to the Collaboration Profile.
Sending a chat message
You can send a message only during a video call, and chat messages are visible to everyone on the call.
How to send a message from Desktop
- Open the Chat window by pressing the Chat button in the bottom menu bar. Type your message in the text box and press Enter to send it.
- You can also paste links into the text box for the guest to access on their device.
- The Chat window remains visible until the Chat button is pressed. Pressing the Chat button again will reopen the Chat window, displaying all messages during the Blitzz Video session.
How to send a message from a Mobile device
- Open the Chat window by pressing the Chat button in the top-right corner. Type your message in the text box and press the arrow (send button) to the right of the text box to send your message.
- The Chat window remains visible until you press the 'X' (Close button) to close the window, or tap outside of the Chat Window on the right. Pressing the Chat button again will reopen the Chat window, displaying all messages during the Blitzz Video session.
Viewing saved messages
Messages are saved only if auto-save is enabled in the Collaboration Profiles.
Saved messages can be viewed after the video call in Session Details under the Files tab.
Note:
Chat is non-persistent for legal reasons and will not be saved or stored.
Chat messages are visible to everyone on the call. Chat history will disappear permanently when you disconnect, by design.
Chat is available for the entire domain. All users will have the ability to access Chat.
